Salary and Benefits
With its historical highlights, Ayutthaya has emerged as one of
the convenient EFL centres in Thailand. The private language
schools as well as the government institutions are the major
players here employing native English speakers as faculty.
However, the pay compared to cities like Bangkok, is generally
low ranging between to 250 to 300 baht per hour. The teacher
turnover on the other hand is generally quite high. For a
graduate holding a TEFL certificate, the monthly salary in
private language schools would hover around 32,000 to 35,000
baht. The contract expects the teacher to work 5 days a week,
delivering 24 to 28 hours of teaching.
